Store Requirements

Before setting up your BookWish store, make sure you meet these requirements.

Business Requirements​

  • Valid business license (if required in your jurisdiction)
  • Tax ID or EIN for business operations
  • Compliance with local bookselling regulations

Physical Requirements​

  • Physical bookstore location (online-only stores coming soon)
  • Physical address for customer pickup and shipping
  • Business contact information (phone, email)

Technical Requirements​

Account Requirements​

  • Active BookWish user account
  • Verified email address
  • Bookstore tier subscription (required to create a store)

Payment Processing​

Customer Payments​

You'll need to set up payment processing to accept customer orders:

  • Stripe account - For processing customer payments
  • Bank account - For receiving payouts
  • Business verification with Stripe

Your Subscription​

Store subscriptions are managed separately:

  • Monthly subscription fee for store access
  • Payment processed through Stripe

Store Tier Subscription​

Creating and managing a store requires an active Bookstore tier subscription.

  • Create and manage your store profile
  • Add and manage inventory
  • Accept customer orders
  • Access point-of-sale features
  • Integrate with Square POS (optional)
  • Custom store website
  • Analytics dashboard

While not required, these will enhance your store experience:

Inventory Management​

  • Square POS account - For automatic inventory synchronization
  • CSV inventory file - For bulk importing books

Store Profile​

  • Store logo (recommended: 512x512px PNG)
  • Store banner image (recommended: 1200x400px)
  • Store description and hours of operation
  • Social media links
